We can tell that another month has passed us by. The nights are drawing in and daybreak is later. I cannot go  for my walk now until about 7.15am as it is not light enough to see before then. There is a plus side in that the mornings are much cooler and so work outside can resume.

Kev has been busy rendering the outside of the house. It is such a mammoth task that we have decided to do it a bit at a time. This bit is outside of our bedroom. We found some damp in our room and so thought the rendering may as well be done before the water proof paint is put on.

As for me, 2 days last week were written of with lovely birthday celebrations. Thursday we went to a local bar and ordered their amazing tapas. Mum really enjoyed this. This was followed up by birthday cake when we got home. To say we were stuffed is an understatement. Then Friday we had to go and fetch my work boots from the menders so we had another birthday lunch with a friend. It was lovely not to cook and to spend some down time away from the work.

There is lots beginning to produce in the garden now that the weather is cooling down. We have aubergines, peppers, courgettes, ball squash, spaghetti squash and patty pan too. There are cherry tomatoes ripening, kale and broccoli.

The garden is being cleared of weeds so that the autumn planting can begin. We want root veg and a range of brassicas this year to last us over winter. We have cleared the onions and some are really small so these will be pickled. The rest are dried and stored for use over the winter.
